One of the preachers at my church was talking about praising God through all things… even in the bad circumstances. Which is something all Christians know we should do. But get this… He was talking about how when we’re down or depressed we listen to depressing music. When we’re living in sin, we listen to the music that best fits that sin. Whether it be fight music, club music, drug music, etc. We sing along to these songs and like dummies put our whole hearts in them. And instead of singing songs that reach the ears of God, we sing the dumb songs that reach the heart of Satan. Satan begs and begs for God to allow him to give us the desires of our heart. And while God continues to refuse, it’s only a matter of time before our free will and desire goes past the lips of God and into the heart of Satan.. thus giving us what we are asking for. And then we have the audacity to cry and moan to God for not bringing us out of captivity. Yeah, it’s pretty simple, but I guess you could say I had an epiphany. Go figure!
We should be very careful what we’re listening to…. and singing along to. I guess it really is true, “Be careful what you wish for”.
